Charlotte Health Insurance for Newborns

Congrats on your newborn!

In the hustle and bustle of the 2 a.m. wake-up calls, diaper changes, and multiple photo-ops, don’t forget one very important factor in protecting your baby’s future: insurance.  Once a child is born, they are considered an individual person and require insurance.  Most insurance plans require that you set up a plan within a month of your baby’s birth, and these plans cover a variety of your child’s healthcare needs, including check-ups, visits to the pediatrician, prescription medicines, and emergency care.  Initially, vision insurance is not necessary, as the pediatrician will check this, nor is dental insurance, as your baby does not yet have teeth.  All that is initially needed are medical and prescription coverages.  Later, if you add your child as a dependent to your plan, dental and vision insurance can be added to the plan.

If affordability is a concern, talk with your Latorre agent the possibility of Medicaid assistance.

And don’t forget your child’s birth certificate!  It will be needed for the paperwork and proof of identity.

Congratulations again; Latorre agents will ensure that your child’s best interest is put above all else throughout the entire Charlotte health insurance process.
