A Message from Your Favorite Charlotte Health Insurance Experts on PPACA

You might be wondering, “How will ObamaCare affect me?”

Signed by President Barrack Obama in May of 2010, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is a federal healthcare law intended to decrease the number of insured Americans, along with decreasing overall healthcare costs.  Whether you’re in favor of the PPACA or against it, starting in 2013, the law will become active.  For this reason, it is important to become informed on the changes to come and how you can prepare.

One of the changes the PPACA will cause, through mandates, subsidies, and tax credits, is to taxes.  Medicare tax, for instance, will experience a .9% increase, with the maximum rate on long-term gains and dividends for investment Medicare taxes increasing 20% and 39.6%, respectively.  Additionally, the maximum flexible spending account (FSA) for individual employees will be limited to $2,500.

Changes are coming, which is why now is the time to ask questions and do your research.  Regardless of your stance on the PPACA,  it is important to be both informed and prepared.
